Tính từ đuôi ing và ed bài tập

1. Phân biệt tính từ đuôi Ing và Ed

a. Tính từ đuôi Ing

Tính từ đuôi Ing được sử dụng để miêu tả bản chất, tính cách, đặc điểm vốn có của con người, sự vật hay hiện tượng.

Ví dụ:

+ The story is boring. (Câu chuyện vô cùng nhàm chán.)

→ Tính từ Boring diễn tả tính chất của câu chuyện.

+ The detective movie I saw last night was very thrilling. (Bộ phim trinh thám tôi xem tối qua rất hồi hộp.)

+ She is charming. (Cô ấy thật duyên dáng.)

Chúng ta thường sử dụng tính từ đuôi Ing trong các trường hợp sau:

Đứng trước danh từ:

Ví dụ: interesting story (câu chuyện thú vị)

challenging question (câu hỏi khó)

Trong cấu trúc: S + find + something + ADJ

Ví dụ: I find this story interesting. (Tôi thấy câu chuyện này thú vị.)

Do you find this game exciting? (Bạn có thấy trò chơi này thú vị không?)

b. Tính từ đuôi Ed

Tính từ đuôi Ed được sử dụng để diễn tả cảm nhận, cảm xúc của con người hoặc con vật về một sự vật, hiện tượng nào đó.

Ví dụ:

+ I was surprised when he won the race. (Tôi đã bất ngờ khi anh ấy chiến thắng đường đua.)

→ Tính từ Surprised diễn tả cảm xúc của người nói về việc “he won the race”.

+ After hearing that her husband had passed away on the battlefield, she is depressed. (Sau khi nghe tin chồng đã hy sinh trên chiến trường, cô ấy suy sụp tinh thần.)

+ His explanation made me confused. (Lời giải thích của anh ấy khiến cho tôi bối rối.)

Chúng ta thường sử dụng tính từ đuôi Ed trong các trường hợp sau:

Trong cấu trúc: S + make + somebody + ADJ

Ví dụ: He made me surprised. (Anh ấy làm cho tôi bất ngờ.)

The exam result makes me satisfied. (Kết quả bài kiểm tra khiến tôi hài lòng.)

Trong cấu trúc: S + feel + ADJ

Ví dụ: I feel nervous when i am in the test. (Tôi cảm thấy lo lắng khi tôi làm bài kiếm tra).

She feels shame because the rumour about her bad behaviour. (Cô ấy cảm thấy ngại vì cái những lời đồn về hành động cư xử không tốt của mình).

astonishing/astonished: kinh ngạc	disturbing/disturbed: lúng túng
astounding/astounded: kinh hoàng	embarrassing/embarrassed: bối rối, ngượng ngùng
boring/bored: chán	entertaining/entertained: tính giải trí
captivating/captivated: thu hút	exciting/excited: hào hứng
challenging/challenged: thử thách	exhausting/exhausted: cạn kiệt
charming/charmed: duyên dáng	fascinating/fascinated: quyến rũ
confusing/confused: bối rối	frightening/frightened: khiếp đảm, đáng sợ
convincing/convinced: chắc chắn	frustrating/frustrated: bực bội
interesting/interested: thú vị	overwhelming/overwhelmed: choáng ngợp
pleasing/pleased: vui lòng, vừa lòng	satisfying/satisfied: hài lòng
surprising/surprised: ngạc nhiên	terrifying/terrified: sợ hãi, khiếp sợ
thrilling/thrilled: hồi hộp	tiring/tired: mệt mỏi
touching/touched: cảm động	worried/worrying: đáng lo lắng
