  "Because of" là một giới từ kếp, được dùng trước danh từ, V-ing, đại từ để chỉ nguyên nhân của sự việc, hành động.

    Cấu trúc: Because of + pro (noun)/ noun phrase

Ví dụ: 

+ I pass the exam because of your help.

+ Because of being on time we have to run very fast.

+ He has an accident because of his carelessness.

+ They moved to Liverpool because of her job.

Because + S + V + O

Ví dụ 1: I like it because it is very beautiful 

Tôi thích nó vì nó rất đẹp

Ví dụ 2: He never eat meat because he is a vegetarian

Anh ấy không bao giờ ăn thịt vì anh ấy ăn chay

3. Phân biệt cấu trúc Because và Because Of

+ Sau Because phải là 1 mệnh đề.

+ Sau Because of không được là mệnh đề mà là 1 danh từ/ cụm danh từ/ V-ing hoặc đại từ.

4. Cách chuyển câu từ cấu trúc Because sang cấu trúc Because Of

    Nguyên tắc chung khi thay đổi (Because sang Because Of) là biến đổi mệnh đề đứng sau Because thành 1 danh từ, cụm danh từ, đại từ hay có thể là V-ing.

   Một số quy tắc để giúp bạn chuyển đổi từ Because sang Because of như sau:

4.1. Chủ ngữ 2 vế trong câu giống nhau

   Nếu thấy hai chủ ngữ của cả hai vế trong câu giống nhau, bạn hãy bỏ chủ ngữ vế Because, động từ sau đó thêm đuôi _ing

Ví dụ: Because Mai is tall, She can reach the book on the shelf.

=> Because of being tall, Mai can reach the book on the shelf.

4.2. Nếu chỉ còn danh từ/cụm danh từ ở vế “Because of…”

    Sau khi giản lược theo quy tắc 1, nếu chỉ còn danh từ/cụm danh từ ở vế “Because of…” thì giữ lại danh từ/cụm danh từ đó.

Ví dụ: Because there was a storm, everyone was at home.

=>  Because of a storm, everyone was at home.

    Trong trường hợp này, bạn sẽ không sử dụng “Because of being a storm” mà phải sử dụng “Because of a storm”.

4.3. Nếu có danh từ và tính từ ở vế Because

    Khi vế Because có nhắc đến cả tính từ cũng như danh từ, bạn chỉ cần đặt tính từ trước danh từ để tạo thành cụm danh từ.

Ví dụ: Because the wind is strong, we can’t jogging

=> Because of the strong wind, we can’t jogging

4.4. Nếu vế Because không có danh từ

   Nếu vế Because không có danh từ, bạn sẽ đổi tính từ/trạng từ thành danh từ và có thể sử dụng tính từ sở hữu.

Ví dụ: Because it is windy, they can’t jogging

=> Because of the wind, they can’t jogging

Ví dụ 2: Because she acted badly, he doesn’t like her

=> Because of her bad action, he doesn’t like her

4.5. Biến mệnh đề sau Because thành một danh từ hoặc danh động từ mang nghĩa tương đương

Ví dụ 1: We didn’t arrive on time because the weather was bad. 

 Mệnh đề: The weather was bad – Ta thấy: Weather là danh từ còn bad là tính từ.    Như vậy, danh từ mang nghĩa tương đương với mệnh đề trên là the bad weather.

=> We didn’t arrive on time because of the bad weather.

Ví dụ 2: I can’t come to the class today because I am ill.

Mệnh đề: I am ill- Ta thấy: ill là tính từ nên có thể chuyển đổi thành danh động từ bằng cách thêm being đứng đằng trước (being ill) hay dùng danh từ của nó illness đi với tính từ sở hữu (illness)

=> I can’t come to the class today because of being ill/ my illness.

Ví dụ 2: I was really happy because my son performed well in the exam yesterday.

Ta thấy: Động từ perform có dạng danh từ là performance và trạng từ well có dạng tính từ là good. Như vậy, danh từ good performance đi với tính từ sở hữu cách sẽ mang nghĩa tương đương.

=> I was really happy because of my son’s good performance in the exam yesterday.

4.6. Đặt cụm từ “the fact that” phía sau Because of và giữ nguyên mệnh đề

Ex: I passed the exam because I studied really hard.

=> I passed the exam because of the fact that I studies really hard.
