Have something done được sử dụng khi chúng ta sắp đặt để người khác làm một việc gì đó cho chúng ta.

Cấu trúc cho have something done:

have + tân ngữ + Quá khứ phân từ

 Ví dụ:

•  Nam's house was damaged in a rain, so he arranged for somebody

to repair it. Yesterday a workman came and did the job.

Dịch nghĩa: Ngôi nhà của Nam đã bị hư hỏng trong cơn mưa, vì thế anh ấy đã sắp xếp cho

người sửa chữa nó. Vào ngày hôm qua, một người thợ đã đến và tiến hành làm công việc đó.

•  Nam had the house repaired yesterday.

Dịch nghĩa: Ngôi nhà của Nam đã được sửa lại vào ngày hôm qua.

 Trong ví dụ này, chúng ta có thể thấy Nam đã sắp đặt cho một người khác thay anh ta sửa chữa ngôi nhà. Anh ta không trực tiếp sửa.

2. MỘT SỐ VÍ DỤ KHÁC CHO CẤU TRÚC HAVE SOMETHING DONE

•  Nam repaired the house. (= He repaired it hisself)

Dịch nghĩa: Nam đã sửa ngôi nhà. (= Anh ta đã tự sửa lấy)

- Nam had the house repaired. (= He arranged for somebody else to repair it)

Dịch nghĩa: Nam đã nhờ người sửa ngôi nhà - ngôi nhà của Nam đã được sửa.

(= Anh ấy đã sắp đặt cho ai đó sửa ngôi nhà)

•   "Did Hoa make those curtains herself?" "Yes, she enjoy making things."

"Có phải Hoa đã tự mình làm các bức màn cửa phải không?"" "Đúng vậy, cô ấy thích tự mình làm mọi thứ"

•  "Did Hoa have those curtains made?" "No, she made them herself."

"Có phải Hoa đã nhờ người làm các bức màn cửa không?" "Không, cô ấy đã tự mình làm đấy."

Lưu ý: Khi sử dụng cấu trúc have something done, bạn cần chú ý tới thứ tự từ.

•  Các động từ ở thì quá khứ phân từ (ví dụ: cut/repaired/...) sẽ được đặt phía sau tân ngữ (ví dụ: your hair/ the roof/...

Ví dụ:

•  Nam had the house repaired yesterday.

•  Where did Hoa have your hair cut?

•  Your hair looks nice. Have you had it  cut?

•  They are having the house painted at the moment.

3. CẤU TRÚC THAY THẾ CHO HAVE SOMETHING DONE

Trong tiếng anh, bạn có thể sử dụng get something done để thay thế cho have something done. Cấu trúc này thường được sử dụng trong tiếng anh giao tiếp.

Ví dụ:

•  When is Nam going to have the roof repaired? = When is Nam going to get the roof repaired?

Dịch nghĩa: Khi nào bạn dự định nhờ người sửa mái nhà? 

4. CÁCH SỬ DỤNG KHÁC CỦA HAVE SOMETHING DONE

Have something done có thể được sử dụng với một nghĩa khác.

Ví dụ:

•  Linh and Nga had all their money stolen while they were on holiday.

Linh và Nga đã bị trộm hết tiền khi mà họ đi nghỉ.

   Trong ví dụ này, chúng ta có thể thấy họ đã không sắp xếp để cho ai đó trộm tiền của chính họ. Câu nói "They had all their money stolen" chỉ có nghĩa là "Tất cả số tiền của họ đã bị trộm mất bởi ai đó".

=> Chúng ta sử dụng cấu trúc have something done để diễn tả sự việc xảy ra ảnh hưởng tới ai đó hoặc một đồ vật mà của họ sở. Trong trường hợp này, have something done được sử dụng với ý nghĩa sự việc xảy ra mang nghĩa không tích cực.

Ví dụ:

•  Lan had her nose broken in a fight. (= her nose was broken)

Lan đã bị vỡ mũi trong một vụ ẩu đả. (=mũi của cô ấy đã bị vỡ)

•  Has Linh ever had her passport stolen?

Linh có từng bị trộm mất hộ chiếu không?
