Hence, many people believe that good news should be given more priority than bad one. However, I firmly believe that bad news plays a more integral role in the citizens’ life than good one does because bad news would keep people from ignoring over the latest current affair. And this essay will address the reasons for my views as followed.

To begin with, a great deal of advocates are inclined towards the fact that the desire to be aware of where danger lurks is the ancient human instinct, which is the main reason why bad news is generally favoured over good one. Sensational news is of paramount importance to raise people’s awareness of on-going social matters. It is the media’s responsibility to reflect the truth and the potential social dangers, and to help people keep pace with the most recent affair, diseases and criminal activities. This stands a bigger chance of protecting themselves against potential incidents.

On top of that, bad news is usually given priority as it attracts a large number of viewers. As more people watch bad news, the general viewing figure increase and the few of the media can benefit from. In the line of this, news reporters, journalists and correspondents who compose such news will certainly earn some handsome living, also do the advertisement providers benefit a lot from sensational news. From my perspectives, the newspaper editors have the likeability to choose bad news or politics-related one to be one of the headlines since newpapers are to inform their readers about these topics.

In conclusion, people are likely to read bad news as it raises their awareness and it is given more priority since it earns the news composers a handsome living. For these reasons, it is clear that more bad news should be broadcasted.
