1. Present Simple Tense (thì Hiện tại đơn)

a) go

How do you go to school?

I go to school by bus.

b) travel

How does he travel to Hanoi?

He travels to Hanoi by plane.

c) walk

Do you walk to school?

No, I don't walk to school.

Does she walk to school?

Yes, she walks to school.

2. Present Progressive Tense (thì Hiện tại tiếp diễn)

a) Minh is riding his bike.

b) They are waiting for a bus.

c) She is watching television.

d) We are playing soccer.

e) He is listening to music.

f) They are walking to school.

g) He is travelling to Hanoi.

3. Prepositions (Giới từ)

Look at the food store. A girl is in the store. A boy is waiting in front of the store. There are mountains behind the store and some house opposite it. There are some trees to the right of the store. There is a truck to the left of the store.

4. Question words (Từ để hỏi)

a) Where is Lan going?

She is going to the store.

b) Who is waiting for Lan?

Nga is waiting for her.

c) What is Lan carrying?

She is carrying a bag.

d) What time is it?

It is twelve o'clock.

5. Contrast (Phân biệt)

b) She rides her bike to school.

She is riding her bike now.

c) We go to school by bus every day.

We are going to school by bus today.

d) I walk to school every day.

I am walking to school now.

e) He drives his truck.

He is driving his truck at the moment.

6. must and must not mustn't

a) At an intersection, you must slow down. You must not go fast.

b) Here, you must turn left. You must not turn right. You must not go straight on.

c) Here, you must stop. You must not go straight on.

intersection (n): ngã tư

turn right:       rẽ phải

turn left:        rẽ trái

go straight on:   đi thẳng

7. can and can not can't

You can't park.

You can park.

You can't ride a motorbike here.
