Dong Ho Painting.

1. Work in groups. Look at the following pictures and read the information below.(Làm việc theo nhóm. Nhìn vào những bức tranh sau và đọc thông tin dưới đây.)

Dong Ho paintings are made in Dong Ho Village, Bac Ninh Province. They are made by hand and they show animals, legends and everyday life. The paintings are made on traditional paper with beautiful natural colours. They are bought and enjoyed at Tet.

Tranh Đông Hồ được làm ở làng Đông Hồ, tỉnh Bắc Ninh. Chúng được làm bằng tay, khắc họa những con vật, truyền thuyết và cuộc sống hàng ngày. Những bức tranh được làm bằng giấy truyền thống với những màu sắc tự nhiên rất đẹp. Người ta thường mua và thưởng lãm chúng trong dịp Tết.

2. Based on the information about Dong Ho paintings and your own ideas, draw a picture of animals or the things around you. Write a few sentences to describe your picture. Think of the following before you start painting.(Dựa vào thông tin về tranh Đông Hồ và ý tưởng của riêng bạn, vẽ một bức tranh về động vật hoặc sự vật xung quanh bạn. Viết một vài câu miêu tả bức tranh của bạn. Nghĩ về những điều sau trước khi bạn vẽ.)

- Content: (an animal, a tree, a flower, a person, abstraction ...) (Nội dung: một con vật, một cây xanh, một bông hoa, một người...)

- Materials: (pencil, crayon, paper, canvas, water color ...) (Chất liệu: bút chì, bút màu, giấy vẽ, giá vẽ...)

- Colours: (red, yellow, blue, green, black, violet, ...) (Màu sắc: đỏ, vàng, xanh da trời...)

Organize a painting exhibition among the class members. Write a few sentences comparing different paintings. (Tổ chức một buổi triển lãm tranh giữa các bạn trong lớp. Viết vài câu so sánh sự khác biệt của các tranh.)

Gợi ý:

- I have drawn a picture on my canvas bag. It is about a girl inside a flower field. The girl is wearing a red dress standing in an ocean of sunflower. The contrary  in color makes it more highlighting.

- Ha Linh has created a beautiful drawing of farmers in the paddy fields. She used only crayon and white paper to describe a hard-working day below extreme sunlight.

- Ha Linh and I both used yellow in our pictures, but she colored the lighter yellow than mine.
