A traditional Vietnamese family was usually an extended family, including more than 2 generations. A new marriage couple live with their relatives under a roof. Whereas , the modern one has three to four people with 2 generations. Each parents has only one or two children. The second is the role of family members. In a traditional family, the father takes all responsibilities for the family and the wife has to do the housework, take care of their children and serve her parents-in-law. On the other hand, the modern parents share household-chore. Both of them go to work to support their family. And the last difference is the family’s relationship.
